Climate control panel removal

Post by Peace_Frog »

Hello people,

My heater fan blows in every vent except the floor ones. Cold Quebec winters prompt me to look into this. My Haynes manual says that under the rotary control knobs I should find a couple of screws to set the panel free. Well there is not. There is just a blueish plastic thing where I'm suppposed to find screws. I assume I should just pry the panel but I'll first submit my case to you guys, before breaking anything. Anybody took this kind of panel out?

Here is what I have to work on:

Yes, you can pry the unit out with a very slim straight slot screwdriver.

Peace_Frog,

Can you give me a bit more info on how you removed this part? I need to remove it on my 96 850 wagon to replace the bulb behind it.
Many Thanks.
