Re: Tire Recommendation for xc90

I would have to see how the true size of 235/65 and 235/60 compare. That is a small difference if the size is 100% true to the math but tire companies aren't consistent at sizing even within their own different models of the same size.

$210 is not cheap but for that tread life they out live a couple of $150 tires, maybe 3 $150 tires.

I know...I also posted this on sweedspeed and one member commented that it was too big. I would spend $210 per tire if it really last that long. Especially on the xc90.

Discount tire has always been a very easy bunch to work with in my experience. I bet they would mount and compare size or they may already know if they fit.

FWIW, I really like the 255/55/18 size on the XC90. They are quite a bit wider, but i feel like they last longer.

Personally i wouldn't get either. I've had bad experiences with Kumho's, Bridgestones, and Falkens. I'm not saying that all their tires are crappy across the board, but I have NEVER had a bad experience with Michelins. Sure they're quite a bit more, but they're safer, quieter, and smoother. To me, a set of Michelins make a car ride so much better, and with how much time i spend driving my cars, its worth a couple hundred extra bucks to put the top of the line tires on.

Discount tire emailed me back about the 235/65/18 fitment:
Thank you for your inquiry. the 235/65R18 tire size may require some fender well modifications to your vehicle.
So...no go on that one...too bad.

I wouldn't listen to them. Im not saying they will fit with nor problems, but i highly doubt the person who emailed you back has any experience what-so-ever with that tire size on a XC90
