Anybody do a performace exahust on a 960/S or V 90?

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

If so was it worth the $ in performance and millage gains? I'm looking for HP and millage and thinking exhaust as in freer mufflers and maybe larger pipes. The V90 system looks like it should flow pretty descent except the large center and rear resonators look like they might be pretty restrictive. Are they??
Not looking for much here just an extra 3- 5 MPG and around 15 HP if I can get it.
She has just over 160K in miles on it and so far I have all synthetics in her (mobile 1 and synthetic trans and PS fluid ), the hot air side blocked closed in the airbox + a fresh TPS and set of plugs. Running 42 LBS in the 205x55x16 P 5's and I 'm getting between18-20 in town and around 25 or so on the road right now. I want more power and better response not just more noise.
Is a Chip worth the $ on a NA 6??

How old are your oxygen sensors? I find the velocity in the stock pipes is about right. I would leave the exhaust alone.

Don't know on the O2's was thinking about replacing one or both. The pipes look decent on the V90 but what about flow with the stock Mufflers? Not looking for sound but performance and in particular the rear resonator design looks like it could be pretty restrictive + that honkin huge heavy center muffler is a big? on flow. I wonder what difference it would make in just swapping both out for something like say a pair of Magna Flow or Flowmaster units?

If you are looking for MPG you will not find it in the exhaust.
You may find MPG improvements for driving 80 MPH or faster in exhaust but for driving at lower speeds exhaust flow is rarely the limiting factor. Unless you do complete exhaust including headers and that is for a vehicle with a very poor factory system. You V90 has a pretty good factory manifold system with 3 into two design that is very good.
I know lots of people that have put duals on a pickup and claim MPG improvement.
I know lots of people that keep very accurate MPG records on their vehicles that have done the same and the long term after the exhaust was no different. When you spend money and do things that you believe to improve MPG they do improve MPG temporarily. You install them and then you drive to get better MPG to see if your new stuff works. The modification in driving style gets the improvement, almost never did the exhaust do it.
I did a complete exhaust on my turbodiesel truck (06 F450) that pulls a 18000 pound trailer and it helped MPG. Improved from 7.6 to 8.1 mpg. You are hard on throttle with that load and the engine is way up in its powerband. Freer exhaust allowed higher turbo boost for the same throttle and it resulted in a gain. The exhaust has benefits for high throttle driving but very little if any benefits for low throttle cruising or low throttle accelerating in city driving.
If you want exhaust because it sounds cool and maybe has a little better OOMPH for fast driving then go for it!

Agree that the stock pipes look pretty free. My experience with exhaust mods has been mostly on US stuff and those gains can be dramatic in both performance and mileage. This one doesn't really start pulling till above 4K on the RPM so I was thinking that freeing the exhaust might really help her. In particular with a load of musical gear and the air on it can use some help!

You need the Paul Newman / David Letterman enhancement. A supercharged Ford 5 liter motor and tranny. I read that it fit real nice and was not all that hard to do.
