s60 front knock sensor replacement

Post by ggarcia155 »

Has anyone had to replace the front knock sensor on their S60? If so a reference to a service manual I can buy or step by step instructions would be nice. Haynes does not list this as a "procedure that should be attempted by novice mechanics. Please take your Vovlo to an authorized repair facility."... My scanner shows it throwing P0328 as the error code. No other codes thrown and the car is definitey missing. Also seems like the ECU has put it in "safe mode" as I can't go over 30 miles per hour and the timing is not advancing. Thanks in advance for any help.

It is similar to the PCV replacement pinned in the 850 forum - the intake manifold has to be removed to get at it. There are some good pictures for you in that write-up.

Actually, if you are going in to replace the knock sensor I would go ahead and tackle the PCV system at the same time since you will be in there and it (probably) needs to be done soon.
