there is gas mixed in with the old oil. I mean the smell was strong. How can I fix this problem? Also, I looked up at the turbo hose going in the intercooler and the bottom of the hose is covered with oily gunk, is this normal?
Awesome tool to remove filter housing from IPD

If the vehicle was run briefly and it was a cold engine, the gas smell is normal. If the car had a few short trips done before you drained oil then the smell is normal.
If the use of vehicle was lots of longer runs at highways speeds and engine had been run for a long time just prior to draining then you need to worry.
Does it run OK and has no codes?
I can know of similiar problems with ford focus' Fords still pull gas in until the car shuts down, therefore. this is still gas in the tube while its off, if there is a small leak in a O-ring around the piston you may have a very small gas leak, have you noticed any decrease in Gas Milage?
Speed has never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary... That's what gets you.
No codes and runs great. Gas mileage is good. I guess it's normal. Wife just took the xc to the grocery store which is only 3 mins away from the house before I changed the oil. Thanks.

UPDATE: So we took the xc to Mytle Beach, got back in today which is about a 2 hour trip. Pulled the dipstick and smelled the oil. Guess what...still got the strong fuel smell. She ran fine throughout the entire trip. Now what?

perform fuel system pressure test at shutdown. leaking injector may be letting fuel in cylinder when car is off.
Occasionally a vacuum operated fuel pressure regulator will fail and the vacuum sucks gas tight from the fuel line. Pull vaccuum line off of the fuel regulator (if it has one) and check for fuel while running.
