I was driving to the store the other day when I hit a pot hole that I think once housed the rock of gilbraltar.I came to a stop sign shortly there after and the car began trying to stall.Gave it some gas and was able to keep it running but at the next light it did the same thing and the oil light came on.Pulled over parked the car in a lot checked the oil it was low but not out.Parked it over night then came back in the morning added some oil car started right up ran fine.I chalked it up to probally getting some water on a wire from the pot hole and the oil getting kicked up from the hit and being low turned on the sensor. For two days the car ran normally then went to a appt about an hour away ran fine on the way there picked up a friend and the car began trying to stall at every stop sign or stop light could keep it running most of the time by giving it gas but sometimes fully stalled.Had it towed home. There are no warning lights on but I did get a knock sensor code and a camshft position sensor code when I hooked up the obd scanner.the knock sensor code I have had for awhile but the camshaft was new .I cleared the codes started the car let run to see if they came back the knock sensor did but the camshaft didnt. The car is running fine in the driveway and around the block literally dont want to venture outside the neighborhood till I know whats wrong.I have checked all the wire harnesses and battrey cables didnt see anything loose or vaccum hose hanging lost and dont know what to do next, what ever help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
thanx

hit a pothole now car stalls coming to a stop
i agree with jimmy57. I hit a curb, cracked the intercooler and had the same signs as you. i could get it running but it would stall when i tried to idle. ended up having to replace radiator and intercooler.

And if you don't have the lower air guide/protective cover, this is exactly the reason you should have one.

I checked the car for all the above mentioned found nothing.I checked for vaccum leaks, loose wires nothing.I drove the car for a day about 30 miles no problems.Just left for work this morning stopped to pick up a coworker on the way.Parked in driveway it stayed running in park for about 8 mins.Soon as I went to leave the car stalled right out.Giving it gas did nothing couldnt restart it either. The check engine light is back on and now the camshaft position code is back again.Called the local volvo dealer who told me its probally the camshaft sensor or the pcm.Told me that I should replace them both since there is no way of telling which one it is and when would I like to come in.Seemed a bit to eager for me.Is there anyway to tell which it could be if in fact this is the issue from the pothole strike.

The fact that it's giving you a code for it at least is a good sign - usually they just die outright without warning, and a flaky cam sensor can be a real pain to track down. I would double-check the connector and plug first, as well as the connection to the mass airflow meter. Maybe there is corrosion or water in the connector.
