SHIFTLOCK OVERDRIVE Doesn't Work

SHIFTLOCK OVERDRIVE Doesn't Work

I just realized that my Shiftlock Overdrive doesn't work. I assume that the RPM's should lower when I push the button but it doesn't! Any suggestions or answers??

Shiftlock button is used when the shift lever can not be moved out of park. RPMs have nothing to do with its use.
