Khameleon Coolant....
Khameleon Coolant....
Just noticed this sticker: I guess the PO has this type of coolant in the xc90. Is this good or bad coolant? Should I flush it and put in volvo coolant? Any good write up for flush and fill on the xc90?

Just looked it up . it is a HOAT without silicates using benzoic acid.
It uses benzoic acid on top of glycol instead of Volvo's brand which has Glycol, sebacic acid and some silicates.
I would use good distilled water and Volvo coolant to gain the added effect of the silicate.
Benzoic acid, C7H6O2 (or C6H5COOH), is a colorless crystalline solid and the simplest aromatic carboxylic acid. The name derived from gum benzoin, which was for a long time the only source for benzoic acid. Its salts are used as a food preservative and benzoic acid is an important precursor for the synthesis of many other organic substances.
Sebacic acid is a dicarboxylic acid with structure (HOOC)(CH2)8(COOH), and is naturally occurring.
In its pure state it is a white flake or powdered crystal. The product is described as non-hazardous, though in its powdered form can be prone to flash ignition (a typical risk in handling fine organic powders).
