If you are going to remove the dash pad all the way yes. The passenger air bag stays with the dash pad. There is a airbag connector and two 10mm bolts that will be disconnected. as long as you disconnect the battery before doing the job you will be ok as to not store any codes. There should be a link with instuctions available somewhere on here.Saint Matthew wrote:and do you need to do anything special in relation to the airbags when tinkering with the dash to get to the odometer?

Really no need to take it all the way out. You should be able to lift the left side just enough to get the odometer out with a helper...I just used some wood blocks to hold it up from the middle- the left side needs to come way up.
