I have a strange problem on my awd turbo s60, whenever the car is started and then put in drive, the shift from 1st to second gets a minor grind on one shift only and only one time until the car is turned off. I have tried starting the car and going in reverse , it will also give me a slight grind/synchro problem, just for a second and then never again, unless of course I turn the car off. I have tried starting the car and then going to manual mode, placing the car in 3rd, and then driving it. Same problem. I would say that this occurs 60% of the time. I have tried replacing the fluid with synthetic mobile, flushing the full 12 quarts. I tried the IPD valve servo cover, yet to no avail.
When I changed the fluid I expected to see all sorts of metal flakes but there were not any. I assume that there is some sort of vacumn/pressure switch that may be causing t his problem. There does not seem to be any difference whether the car has warmed up or is diven cold. In addition, it does not make a difference whether it is driven hard or conservative. Does anyone have any ideas?

that minor grind you are hearing is just the ABS doing a test, it happens at exactly 12 mph after starting the engine.
Maybe you didnt read the manual?
A tranny slipping would cause your RPM's to go really high and the car would barely move...

Also the fuel filler door will auto lock at ~10mph after refueling.
Anti-lock Brake System (ABS)
The ABS system in your car performs a self- diagnostic test when the vehicle first reaches the speed of
approximately 12 mph (20 km/h). The brake pedal will pulsate several times and a sound may be audible
from the ABS control module. This is normal.
