Hi jabblackburn,I'm not so shure the Cam Sensor is dead.As said above, tested CPS as follows.
Using Anollogue Meter.
Sensor connected.
Probed wires 1 and 2 with fine needles into their core.(i actually made up short plug bridging wires containing needles)
Clipped test leads to the leads as follows.
Positive lead to Signal wire 2 Blue/yellow.
Negative lead to Ground wire 1 Brown/black.
Cranked engine, needle of Meter showed Full range deflection, back and forth, while cranking, over full range of dial.
Turned of key,Meter read 12V for 240 seconds till main relay 2/32 deactivated.
Cant say what that proves though perhaps someone on here will know.
Reguards to all.

Toplights wrote:Hi jabblackburn,See my earlier post first please.Today i retested my figures and i may have tested the Checking Signal cable to Ground, wrongly. In the test proceedure it askes if the resistance is infinate and it isent.I get a reading of 1.43 Kohms with my multimeter set on the 20K setting.Does this mean i have an earthing fault in the Camshaft position sensor circuit? your comments would be apreciated. That was my biggest problem since last week. One thing i just noticed is that you have conducted testing on the signal cable. I guess i need to try that one.

Hi clark,it's been a while since i last posted on this forum. After extensive tests, the CPS turned out to be good.I eventially found the fix and the V70 hits the road on the first of May.It took a whole year of diognosis and much electrical testing. If you'r interested see this link.Reguards to all Malcolm.
