FLUID GURUS
Have recently done the brake fluid exchange on both the XC and our S80. Have to do the same on my Chevy PU. Can I use my left over ATE super blue DOT 4? truck calls for DOT 3. My indie says there is a difference that may mess with the seals? As always any input is appreciated...Thanks and have a great day!

I have not seen the different fluids cause a problem in years. In the past DOT 4 in DOT 3 was fine but DOT 3 in DOT 4 would often result in leaks.
I always buy DOT4 and use in domestics and I've not had any that leaks from that change.

You can mix Dot 4 with Dot 3 but you will lose some of the benefits Dot 4 has - due to the mixing. You can flush a Dot 3 system with Dot 4 without concern. The chemical makeup of Dot 3, 4 and 5.1 are similar. Dot 5 is not similar and is a silicone based fluid vs the glycol based 3,4 and 5.1
