etm volvo s80

I bought an used etm from another volvo S80(8644347), can I use in my car and load the software?, if the answer is yes, can tell me where I can get the software, Volvo dallas ,say I can't load it because is an used etm, thanks.

In theory, yes you can. If you can get your hands on the correct Volvo hardware. That will cost you $450 at the very least (VCT2000 or Volvo DICE).

That said, if you have the cashflow to buy the VCT2000, you could get it, fix your ETM and sell it on for very near what you paid for it.
