Tick, Tick sound from A/C

Post by Ghassan »

Hi,

On an intermittent basis, my climate control unit seems to make a tick, tick, tick like sound. The sound does originate, it is when the temp dial is set at 22 deg C. When I change the setting to some other temp, the sound usually lessens or disappears.

Any input?

Thanks.
Ghassan.

Sounds like a servo motor stuck and trying to change locations for the air to come out of the vents. Try changing it around from floor to cabin to defrost and see if there is any difference.

I will get back to you after the weekend.

Additionally,

If the coolant suggestion works, I will also inform back.

Thanks.

Hi,

I checked like you said and did so repeatedly. I couldnot confirm if it changing the mode from defrost to feet or to face or vice versa has indeed an effect. What I can confirm is that by changing the temperature setting to another setting has an immediate affect on the sound. For example, if the sound goes on I will change the temp. dial to 26deg C and the sound will go away quickly. 10 minutes later, the sound will come back and then I will change the setting back to 22deg C and this will again get rid of the sound.

Thanks.
Ghassan.
