Oil in Turbo Intake 2000 V70 AWD

Post by VoVo »

While replacing my turbo because of a bad bearing, I noticed oil was in the intake hose. I suspected this was due to the turbo failure, but after replacing the turbo, I noticed the same oil was present in the new turbo intake. What could be causing this? I do not have any impact(currently), except for the presence of oil. What can I do to correct this?

Thanks in advance,

Vovo

Sounds like your breather box (oil trap) is full or nearly so. Time for a PCV job.

Hey There,

This oil is getting in there because of the PCV system. It dumps the crank case gases into the intake, before the turbo. If it seems like it is a lot of oil, then more then likely you need to replace the PCV system.

WAIT!

Don't order URO hoses that come with that kit. Call them up and request OEM Volvo hoses for the one into the side of the oil seperator box and the one from the box to the PTC connection on the turbo intake hose.

Trust me, you will make your life easier.
