Get a rebuilt trans if you have the money or get a pick a part one for $150 maybe less.
Can you not pull a transmission from another Volvo? or is that a mission?
Well, crap. Blinking arrow of doom.

Just do a manual swap. It'll be way more fun driving your Volvo w/ a 5 speed than a sluggish Civic. You have at least 40 more HP and 50 more TQ than the Civic. Have some more fun with her before she goes to her final resting place.
Check this link for info: http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/topic/78 ... nual-swap/

Except that same Civic is also like 700lbs lighter.
Ugh.... I just defended a Civic... I think I'm going to.... yeaaaaah... just vomited in my mouth a bit.
Get an E30, that's what I'm looking for, preferably a convertible, and definitely with a 5spd.

Hate all you want, that Civic was fun as crap to drive. I'd still like to have one as a commuter car for all the driving that I do. I still like the 2005 better than the 2011 Civic (HATE the interior), 2011 Mazda 3, 2008 Focus, or 2011 Chevy Cruze. My best friend has the same one in a coupe since 2004, but in an auto. Granted neither has much power unless you rev over 4000 and then it sounds like a blender, but she also gets 40 mpg regularly and it has NEVER broken.
I will probably never own a BMW. Flat-out refuse. I love my mom's 1974, and I've driven a Z3 and a 530 and both were awesome. But I will never own one.
I'm still hoping this will work this afternoon, but if not my options are going to be:
1) Quickly look for an M56 somewhere around here. If it's more than $400, I won't do it.
2) Buy the auto up the road here for $200 and put it in.
Should have a verdict in a few hours!
