2006 S40 Deck Error

First time in the forum - reviewed the posts on deck error. Found a guy called the radio man (radiomanrepair.com) who said that he can repair the player for $350.00 with a 1 year warranty. New from the dealer (which is the only place I can find it) is almost $700.00. Anyone had any experience with this guy or anyone else who could repair these? Seems apparent that if I purchase the new one from the dealer, I will have to take it in to have them setup the computer to recognize it (at some additional cost).

BTW - the screen (radio/temp control window) has a bad section in it - right in the middle. Is there any where to get this part outside the dealer?

FYI - this is a 6-disc changer with the upgraded sound system
