2007 C70 door pops open?
2007 C70 door pops open?
I just got back from a weekend trip and after driving for about 4 hours the driver's side door suddenly popped open. At first I thought that maybe I didn't close it all the way, but it happened again after about 2 more hours of driving and this time I am sure I slammed the door to be sure it was closed. Has anybody ever had this happen to them, and where should I start looking to find what is causing this inadvertant release of the door latch?

Personally
I would not screw around with something this important
Go to a VOLVO dealer

go to the dealer as JRL said. Use the word "safety" a lot in your conversation.
Does the car have the keyless drive feature? (locked door opens with no handling of remote or key and can be locked via a black pad on each outside door handle)

It does not have the keyless drive feature. I bought this car used so I have not dealt with a volvo dealer at all yet... not looking forward to it plus the closest dealer to me is a 2 hour drive. Does anybody have any recommendations of a few things I might look at before I give in and take her to the dealer?
I haven't pulled the interior panel off yet and really dug into it, but looking at the door clasp (the part that "grabs" onto the metal catch) it looks like once the door is closed the only way for the door to open again is for the clasp to be released. This shouldn't happen unless I pull on the door handle. Does anybody know if the connection between the door handle and the clasp is mechanical, or is there an electrical connection that triggers the clasp to release when I pull the handle? If it's strictly a mechanical connection then I can see it being some kind of cable being out of adjustment as adki110 mentioned above.
Not sure if its related or not, but I have also noticed a few times that the interior door handle is a little harder to pull to get the door to open than it is most of the time.
