V40 wet carpet rear passenger seat - possible ac problem?

Carpert very wet and smelly - think water is coming from air condition as nothing has been spilled. Researched web and it may be due to blocked filter. Is cabin filter the same as air conditioning filter? Could these being blocked cause water to come into car ? Also where are they located ?
