Extended cranking for start

Someone had posted a message awhile back about their car requiring a little more cranking then normal before it fires. I couldn't find the thread but was that issue resolved? Mine has started doing this when cold. Thanks for any help.

My 93 850 GLT with 172K was doing that then just quit starting. Thought it was the Fule pump, turned out to be just the filter. As they get older they need the filter changed more often from build up in the tank.

OK, thanks for your reply. Since posting this, I have noticed that my car doesn't do it all of the time so that may very well indicate a filter problem like you said. It was changed about 1 year ago (15k miles) so it may be just due again. Thanks.
