Smokey substance coming out of air vents.

Post by Chad E. »

I was driving back to work from lunch today and I had the A.C. on. A light (what looked like) a smokey substance started to come out of the vents. I just had the radiator serviced and the A.C. seems to be working very well. When I turned the A.C. off and then on again, it went away for the last five minutes of my drive. I have never noticed anything like that in a car in my entire life! Does anyone know what this is, or if it it serious?

Thanks,

Chad

your A/C system is probably that efficient that the moisture in the air is becoming so cold that it freezes and forms the light white frost. Be careful that the system isn't over-charged and freezes the pipes as this will become detrimental to the system possibly crack pipes. But other than that its just the air condensing.
