Trip reset button

Post by tysales »

I few months ago I pushed in the trip reset after filling up gas and the odometer froze.

The speedometer works but the odometer both trip and acual milage do not work. I got the oil changed at the dealer last week and they said it will cost around 100 dollars to fix.

Also I had a check engine light. They looked into the light and it was error code 411 Throttle sensor. :(

Is the odometer push button easy to fix or is it worth the 100 bucks also dealer said they would set the actual miles to be correct ( I feal this one is too political to fix myself). And the throttle sensor erroe code 411, is this an easy fix or something that needs to be taken care of.

As a side note I am interested in buying some Bridgestone Potenza RE750's for my 1995 850 GLT I plan on getting 195/50/15R would anyone recommend the 205/50/15 instead? I can get the 195's for 82/ea

It must be the Volvo, because my 1995 850 Turbo with 148K did the same thing in aug 03. I'm just dealing with it. but it's good to see how much it might cost if and when I decide to have it repaired.

ive had the trip meter and odometer stop, its a little cog inside thats driven off the motor that breaks. best to leave it to the experts because its so fiddly inside there that its best left to them. with your tyres, keep to the factory specifications on tyre size and aspect ratio, then you wont have any trouble with insurance.

Well the trip reset actually cost 246.00. Mainly because of the 3 hours of labor. But they also replaced all the bulbs in the dash so now everything is bright and I can see the clock now at night. Due to the fact that my actual miles were within 5% of the odometer reading he did not rest the miles.

And I went ahead and got the Brigdestone 205/50/15 Potenzas they are a nice tire quiet and handle really well.
