2002 C70 Conv. Door Handle Slips Off Latch

Hello,

My door was stuck since the window was out of adjustment and when I pulled the exterior handle the internal mechanism came loose. I put the pieces that had come loose back together but now the latch doesn't seem to catch the metal/plastic combo piece; it starts to catch then slips off. Is there something else that's needed to attach the metal/plastic combo piece to the latch itself? If I can help it, I don't want to take apart the driver-side door to see how it's working.

Fixed. I was able to get a look at the assembly on the other side and there's nothing mounting the plastic/metal bar piece to the latch. I simply bent the piece that houses the plastic/metal bar towards the latch to get the bar to catch.
