2002 C70 Conv 2.0T O2 Sensor locations

Post by Andihowe1975 »

Good Morning All,

Apologies in advance for a simple question.....

I have a 2002 C70 2.0T Convertible that I have just acquired that has a few fault codes. The first two are relating to the O2 sensor and O2 heater element.

On crawling about under the car, I have only found one on the cat facing rearwards, is this the only O2 sensor on the car?

Thanks in advance

Andi

1st one is between intake manifold and cat, second(rear) one is after the cat...towards the rear of the car.

So is it on the part of the pipe that is running vertically up the bulkhead then?

In the pic I attached the sensor is bolted into the top of box on the exhaust (the part with the red arrow on) which Im assuming is the cat. I did look up the exhaust towards the manifold but couldnt see anything jumping out at me. If your saying that there should be a sensor on that part of the pipe then I will need to jack it up and have another look.

Thanks Again,

Andi

Yes...front o2 sensor MUST be between intake manifold & cat. That's why it's called 1st or front.
Rear o2 is ALWAYS after the cat towards the rear end of the car....and thats why it's called 2nd or rear.

Some cars have them both, some have only front one.
Check if your 2.0T is equipped with both or just have one...but being a '02...it should have both.

This should match your setup:
