snapping floormats into place

OK, simple question. Is there a secret to snaping the floor mats into place on a 2004 XC90? None of my floor mats seem to want to snap into the plastic tabs. Advice would be appreciated. Brad

I have installed floor mats in two XC90 ( 2004 AWD and 2006 AWD). They are a bit difficult to install but if you use some "friendly persuasion) they will snap over the shoulder of the mounting studs. A little plain water might help ( rubbed on the underside surface of the floor mate immediately around the hole into which the mounting stud fits. I hope this helps.

Got almost the same situation, but again went to a nice shop and had bought rubber all season mats. Still, I wasn't able to do it.

ok, so according to the dealership, you can't have both all weather mats AND the carpet mats "snap together". meaning that you can have the carpet mats on the all weather mats, but they aren't meant to snap together. Doesn't quite sound right to me, but, I have given up on this and moved onto bigger problems. Brad
