info message display erratic

Is there a common failure trend with these? A search didn't turn up much info.

Mine is showing lines out in the info display but then if you change the content the text looks fine but here may be old data still trying to show through in other pixels or off to the side where it shouldn't be like a ghost image. bottom line the display, connections or computer are on the fritz and I"m curious if this is a simply swap, reprogram needed or a complicated R&R.

You probably need a new DIM module

I may have seen posts about people replacing gauge displays due to faulty gauges...is this the DIM? or is the DIM just the small info display? (driver info management or such)?

I"m curious if I can just swap with a used one? I know every Saab 9-5 had a info display that failed due to poor connection with the LCD met the IC board and several techs made a living repairing these. Anything similar?

I guess having an R one wouldn't be a bad thing...but I don't have a 2004!
