S60 idleing problem

Post by dduck13 »

Ok...this is kind of a repost but also an update and different question. I had the timing belt and some other maintainance done to my 2002 Volvo S60 on Tuesday. I picked it up that evening and drove it home...as I drove it home from work on Wed. the check engine light came on...I took it to the shop I had do the maint. and he reset it and told me it was probably just where he had to ajust it back after he put the belt on. So the light came back on Thur. morning on the way to work and the shop told me if it was driving ok to just give it a day or two. No here is where I am getting mad. I got home last night and was sitting in the drive way with my wife talking about a couple thing and the car almost stalled then reved then almost stalled again then reved again in about 20 sec. What could this be and what should I do?

resetting the light won't solve the issue. You need to fix the issue for the light to stay off.

what is the code that is triggering the CEL.

It's likely an ETM problem. Cleaning it out might fix the problem. There's an extended warranty on them if they fail, but it doesn't sound like yours is that far yet.
