Wiper woes!
Wiper woes!
So, on my 2001 S40, it needed new blades. Got some Bosch micros...the 'good ole' kind at $10 each. Right now I could not drop $20+ on the Ion's. So, 21" drivers, 20" pass. The driver's top tip hits the left side window moulding on each pass... I tried re-positioning the arm so that the wiper rests in it's lowest position when not in use...didn't solve the problem...it smacks right into the window trim at the end of it's stroke... Pretty soon, the window trim will have 'wear marks' from this. I swapped the 20" and 21"...no change. Any ideas?

If the wiper sits in the same position as the old one then you are left with mechanical slack/play.
Check the mechanical connections between the motor and the wiper arm. Perhaps you have too much play in the joints.
Usually found under the cowl cover panel.
