Sunroof Won't Open After Battery Was Disconnected??

How long in between each step? The last time I tried it I disconnected the battery, touched the wires together, waited a few minutes, reconnected the positive last. I am assuming that I lock the door after reconnecting the battery, waited a minute, and then did the remaining steps. Thanks again.

the battery reset procedure will not do anything if the bad siren is still attached to the wiring.

Gotcha, I have received several different ideas on how to fix this. The odd thing is the siren hasn't worked for at least a few months when I bought the car, but the sunroof did. I disconnected the battery to remove the positive terminal in the engine bay by the fuse box to get to the O2 sensor connection that started all of this.

The current draw to keep the siren battery charged may have been low enough that things were JUST barely ok. Battery disconnect may have been the little pus it took for the siren to be finished.

Update....The sunroof is now opening and closing again after 6 weeks of not working. Absolutely crazy. The alarm horn is still not working. I am going to leave it closed just in case the car chnages it's mind.

For what it is worth, when my '01 S60T sunroof refused to open it was the clue that the alarm siren module was bad. Changing it cured the sunroof problem. See the writeup in the S80 section for the procedure.

And I have had my battery disconnected numerous times, all probably less than 2 hours with no problems generated.
I always undo the negative cable only.

Also see my post on failed horn. Is this a alarm module symptom? Horn itself is OK.

Did you end up figuring this out? After reading this post you had similar problems as I am having. Does anyone know how to change the alarm battery?

It actually started working on it's own. The sunroof is on the same circuit as the alarm siren. We had heavy rain earlier in the month and I guess that water got into the box and completed the circuit. It's still working, but I am leaving it closed. I was able to find a new siren for $100-150, but haven't bothered with it yet.
