anyone know why i cant hear the turbo on my 1989 turbo 740?

What exactly are you not hearing? My 85 760turbo doesn't sound any different when the turbo kicks in, it just sounds like overdrive sounds.

What about your turbo gauge? Is it going into the yellow?

it doesnt sound any different like in terms of over drive or such, but the fan is really really loud when you accelerate. In other turbos i have driven (not nessesarily a volvo) you can really hear the turbo when accelrating quickly. I was just wondering if i should be hearing it or not.
