Re: Power Brake Booster

I did the test again and as I loosened the nuts on the MS the tires rotated more freely. It's definately the booster. Just called NAPA to make sure they would take it back. FCPgroton looks like the best place to go. $216 for the booster. If this works like it should I will want to replace brake pads, rotors, etc. in the future. Should I purchase the kit, or the parts individually? Also, my airbag control unit has been bad for some time. The dealership quoted me $800 to replace it. Does anyone have some better info. Lastly, my V70 has 220K. It's been the best car I've ever had and I've had to Mercedes before. I love it. It's been serviced at every interval since i got it with 68K miles on it. I've had to replace the AC compressor and 2 oxygen sensors, lower control arms and other miscellanious parts. In addition to the aforementioned parts, it needs new struts, shocks and tires. Should I go ahead and do what needs to be done are with 220K on it, are these bad investments?

Guys, I got in the new unit today installed it this afternoon and all is working properly now. It was obviously a much better part then the one I got from NAPA. It came with the "flat" o-ring, just like the orginal. it came with a new pressure switch installed. It had a plastic cover of the engine side of the unit to keep dirt out. It mounted to the firewall like a glove. Thank you all for your help. I really do appreciate it. I will never purchase parts again without consulting with you guys and Mathews. Thanks again.

I have a 2001 V70/S60 T5 and this car has done 200k kms. i have had my brake booster recon'd with little success! I have now resorted to replacing the vehicles Booster with a new ATE bought at FCPgrotten! strangly i have had no other issues with the vehicle. i will continue to drive it till the wheels fall off! From browsing the web .. there seems to be a number of issues with the original oem!!

So dont recon .. buy new here
