1997 850 - Entered Radio Code - Now what?

Post by apache31 »

I did that SAS Delete on this 1997 850 (Motronic 4.4) by soldering the diode in the correction direction on A32 and A37 inside the ECU. Put it all back together. Entered my radio code and now the vehicle will not even turn over. I have power to everything but it won't crank.

1) Is there any way I could have damaged something by removing the ECU and TCU and taking the cover off of the ECU to do the modification? I was careful. Didn't drop anything. Didn't inadvertantly touch the soldering iron to anything other than the two terminals.

2) I assume I made the modification to correct control unit. It was the middle one.

3) Am I supposed to disconnect something at the Air Pump as a final step before this works?

4) I left the positive side of the battery connected and disconnected the ground when I did this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need this car for work on Monday.

VIN = YV1LS5549V1360184

4 = w/o EGR w/air pump, w/OBDII, w/elec. control evap,
Motronic 4.4 w/Rulo., TLEV (55, 56)

Appears to be a Motronic 4.4

Let me answer my own question:

Forogt that I had to step outside of the car, lock and unlock it before it would start. What a bonehead I am.
Told you, I am still learning.
