i have a 2001 volvo s80 t6 with about 223,000 miles on it. i recently had a TRANSMITION SERVRIVE URGENT light come on. my car would either get stuck in 3rd gear or have some hard shifting.
after about a week of driving like this my car began to rev to 6k while under normal acceration and not accerlarte over 40mph. i pulled over on the highway shut the car down and it seemed to fix that problem temporalaly.
then the car started making some horible engine noises, it rumbles and shakes while idling, acceratiion and starting, it sounds like a tractor hauling more that it can handle.
i checked the oil levels and it was under the dipstick so i put 3 qts of oil in, now 5 days later it burned through those 3 quarts.
the real problem now is i was at a light and my car would not go forward, i was in drive and the car remained like i was in park, switching from drive to reverse to neutral, to park or using geartronic would not make the car move.
after a tow i try the car and it is able to move

Any DTC codes? Is there still oil in the car? Why did you put in 3 qrts of oil? Did it take that much to bring it up to the full mark? Have you checked the oil level in the transmission? i.e. was it motor oil that you added 3 qrts of?

i added 3 quarts of motor oil in the car, the transmission fluid seems normal. i actually think the car is in like a safe mode or something
