I've search all over but cannot find the same symptoms as what my 2003 s40 has. Any help would be awesome.
It started as an occasional shutter while the car was at low RPM. Mostly at idle or in park.
Dealer replaced a bad PNP switch.
Shuttering started again at a traffic light.
Replaced coil packs, plugs, wires, and air filter.
After I replaced all of this, I started the s40 and it shutters terribly. I even gave it gas (while in park) and it still acts like its on the brink of stalling. RPM seem to fall even with gas and/or it does not smooth out. Also, it starts up fine, then I hear a click and the shuttering starts.
The parts guy said it could be idle control?
From research I've found possible causes, but want some opinions on what to try.
Fuel filter? MAF? O2 sensor? Idle control? PCV/oil trap?
Thanks in advance, Matt
