abs and tracs light on most of the time

My abs and trac light is on almost always. It sometimes will be off for a short while after re-starting engine.. O yeah, its a 98 v70 glt. I have cleaned the wheel sensors, and nothing changed. I'm not getting any codes when I scan it, but understand many code readers won't pick up abs problems. How do I know if its a bad abs module? I guess I'm asking for suggestions on where to go next.. The car also has 136k miles . Thanks

Almost certainly the module. Member Matty Moo here rebuilds them (google Midwest ABS) inexpensively. It's also a possibly DIY project if you are comfortable with a soldering iron.

In reality there are only two kinds of '96 and on ABS modules - those that have failed and those that are going to. Since you have cleaned the wheel sensors you are in the 99% probability camp for a failing module.

I got the abs module from midwest-abs. It took about 1 hour to do only because I dropped a torx bit and could not find it. Otherwise about a 1/2 hour job. Thanks for all the advice, fixed my problems.

you could just take the bulb out of the instrument cluster for the ABS light as I did....cheap fix ---don't need ABS anyways---car runs fine without it. Also not needed for state inspection.
