Automatic transmission will cope with 400bhp
Finally I can confirm that the automatic transmission fitted to the P2 850 T5 series will handle around 400bhp without any problems provided the traffic light grand prix isn't continual or the engine revs are held at the lights and the fluid is changed for some good fluid brand not essential just not the bargain brands oh they transmission really benefits from a secondary cooler fitted to the chassis rail too.

No such a car as a P2 850 T5
What do you have 855R, that's a GEN 1 Volvo.
A P2 car is a 2001 to 2007 S60-V70.
If it's essentially a stock tranny, word has it that it won't last too long if you unleash those ponies!

Mod note. Jim passed away in early 2022, his contributions to this forum are immortal, and he is missed. RIP

What I term as a P2 850 here in the UK is a post 1994 model. unlike in the usa our models changed in 1994 only subtle things body style/headlights/turbochargers came in as we don't have the turbocharged GLT as a set model our turbocharged ones are all T5/T5-R/R's
And yes there are a few more mods on my T5 bigger turbo/oil cooler/transmission cooler/V70 TCV/rebuilt engine

Mid-1994 models changed here too. They're not really considered part of a different generation.
Just like when Honda updated Accords mid-way through production cycles. 1996 and 1997 models are different from 1994-1995, as well as 2003-2005 models from 2006-2007. They're still considered "x-gen" models.
