98 S70 GLT engine problem

Post by _squeezy »

It has 88K on it. Bought it from a dealership fully serviced. I've put about 1K on it myself. So every once in a while, when I get back in the car after 7+ hours of being off, it'll feel like it driving on only 4 cylinders, or something is holding it back. It doesn't sound the same at higher rpms when it does it, but it straightens out after I come to a complete stop. What could be causing this do you think? I appreciate any help!

First, start by seeing if there are any DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes) set. Auto Zone will pull the codes for you for free.

To me it sounds like a bad ignition wire that is shorting and then not shorting as you come to a stop...G-force causing your wiring it straighten out. I would for sure check your fault codes though. If it's wiring, then you'll get a code like a "missing compresion at plug #5," etc. type code.
