We got a flurry of donations late yesterday, one of them being $150. Thanks to EVERY ONE OF YOU who donated. This money goes straight into the pockets of our Moderation team.

I'm trying to get Justin to spend it on college books instead of cigarettes and gambling this year. j/k

It's our best year ever in terms of donations collected, by far.

I'll send each of you late-August donors a thank you email and move your accounts to MVS Contributor status later today.

Be proud that you've helped these guys -- together responsible for roughly 35,000 posts here at MVS -- who help the Volvo community daily for free.

Thanks,
Matt Herrebout

A special Thank You !!! to everyone who donated!!!

I have picked up some new software to help even more in the future. I can't say thanks enough for your donations. In these hard times every little bit helps a lot. Last year the donations helped me pay for a radiator in my 850 N/A wagon. Every time I open the hood I think of those generous souls who have helped me out. I still stop and help every Volvo owner I see in trouble.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help,

Sincerely,
John D.

As always - If you are in TN you can stop by for a free OBD or VIDA reading (coming soon) on your car. I own an independent insurance agency and am here 6 days a week if you want to stop by and check out your car.

Pfft. Girls and beer would be more believable, Matt

All joking aside, thanks to each and every one of you that contributes to the site - whether in donations for Mod Month, for Matt's hosting fees, or with the wealth of information that we've got in the entire site here. It's amazing to see the donation number updates that Matt has been rolling out - it's truly an awesome gesture by all of you . Bill, John, Lee, and I all try to help out when we've got time to - but in most of our absence lately from most of us being extremely busy, I've definitely been glad to come back and see everyone else helping each other out with what they know. The few times this year when I have posted up something that's got me confused with my little blue monster (and for those of you that remember my transmission thread), everyone has chimed in and been very supportive and helpful to me. That's what makes this site such a great community :)

The donations from this fundraiser will be put to good use by everyone, that I can promise. We've got a great group of folks here as Matt's "minions". Personally, mine will go towards some combination of these things:
  • Timing belt kit for the S70. I'm very quickly approaching 207,000 miles when it needs to be done again.
  • Beach trip to Myrtle next weekend with my beautiful girlfriend.
  • Taking the GRE in a few weeks.
  • The 5-6 graduate school applications I will be doing this fall at $100-150 a piece. You may lose me entirely for a few weeks as my life becomes preoccupied with this.
Within the next few weeks/months, my life is going to become very busy so I may not be around that much. Along with the things mentioned above, I've been studying my butt off to get ready for this exam, been very busy at work, and I'm also looking for a new job and to move to the Washington DC area, hopefully after Christmas some time. I'm going to try to pop in to the site at least once every day, but if there is anything I may look over or not reply to and you'd like my opinion on, please by all means, drop me an email or PM on the site. I'm always more than happy to help anyone out - just let me know!

Total: $790.67  via twenty donations. :!:

I need to doublecheck this: PayPal has no "export", and copy/paste into spreadsheets makes the formatting screwy (depending on if a comment was made with the donation), but if that's not exact, it's very close. I'll do it again tomorrow.
