95 850 transmission problem

Maybe you already know this but: the trans input speed sensor connector is on the same harness with the O2 sensors, it is the third plug there.

I really dislike the way the repair database here is organized now, it should be much easier to find a specific link than to scroll through them 10 at a time ...

PNP Removal and Cleaning

The speed sensor on a 95 is very near the firewall side of the transmission. You should see the little nub sticking up.

Cool indeed, will remove PNP from my donor wagon, switch them,and then the redo the other..
Got to check that sensor though..94-95 etc, are all located at the same place?

Yup. They didn't change til the 96 model year when the new ABS system was introduced.

The problem 99% of the time is worn copper contacts inside the PNP. You've got a parts car, right? Take the PNP from the parts car, open it up. Take out your PNP, open it up. I also recently saw a post here, that some online place is selling a "PNP rebuild kit" for these cars. The kit contains the 3 copper contacts. It is $20 which is too high but way cheaper than a new PNP. Do a search on this site if you want to find that.



You can get the contacts from Swedishcarparts.com. I ordered and installed in my PNP switch. Much less expensive than a new PNP switch

I believe I found the sensor, its way back on the trans, if facing the trans from front of the car towards the left side, next to what seems to be a mount.
Question, I looked for the plug all over, were does it ends and if so..

On a 95, well on the 95 in my driveway, that plug comes out of the part of the harness that includes the 2 oxygen sensor plugs. The O2 sensor plugs are red.

Maybe im at the wrong one? There is a yellow and green wires but the o2 wires are blue if not mistaken..
