headrest removal/upholstery repair

Post by JCM »

I want to repair the leather interior on my S80, year 2000. Can someone tell me how the headrest is to come off. I don't want to force or break it. I know on some cars the headrest is held only by friction and would come off by lifting upwords. Can anyone please advise. THANKS! JCM

Hi,
I have an 07' S80 and I don't think the front headrest are made to come out. This question has come up before and if memory serves me, others have had the same response. For your sake I hope someone can come up with a diffrent answer.

Paul, Thanks! I felt this was the case all along. I"ll persue this as my upholstery issue tremendously de-values my car. Hope someone can answer with a simple solution.

Anybody have anything to offer on S80 head rest removal since answers from last year. I simply want to install a sheepshin to cover a worn seat.

Thanks, Fred

does the rest have a zipper on the underside? Last S80 i say had a pin inside that released the headrest
