Post by bradmuskrat7 »

Does anyone if it is possible to turbo charge a1990 GL wagon with a 2.3 motor? I have heard that the non turbo motor isnt strong enough.

The motor is essentially the same except for low compression pistons to achieve a lower compression ratio suited to turbocharging at the same boost pressures as the stock turbo.

To do a proper comparison get yourself a copy of the VADIS DVD online (plenty of them on eBay for under $20) and compare the various parts in the motor b/w turbo & non turbo.

Something I read once said something about forged pistons on the B230FT but I can't be sure.
