Hi all,
I am new to the forum but I am on my fourth Volvo. I have had nothing but joy from them. However, I have just checked my air filter on my 960 1997 sedan. Filter is in great condition but when I put it back and start the engine the Check Engine light is on and will not go off. I have hunted everywhere for the instructions to reset it. Can anybody help me.
Many Thanks
Gary
1997 960 Check Engine Light
Well, at least in my '91 940, it's done with the engine diagnostic unit. It's a small black box located behind the driver's side strut tower in the engine compartment.
You can reset it by following the instructions on this page:
http://www.volvoclub.org.uk/faq/EngineOBDCodes.html
Scroll down to the part 2. (Erasing Fault Codes).
Hope this helps!
