whats the correct rpm when car is stopped on red lights ?

I just observed that when I am stopped at redlight my engine is at 800rpm. can anyone please tell me what should be correct stopping rpm for 95 volvo 850. and how to adjust it?

Sounds right. Mine idles at 950 or so, which I feel is a bit too high but mine is also a S70 and others on other forums post the same numbers as me with lower numbers for 850's.

The Volvo tach is not accurate. The best method is to hook up to a diagnostic computer to see RPM.

'96 854 - died an early death with 184K miles. Killed by the front end of an LTD on a suicide mission (T-boned and both cars totaled).
