have a slow/slight oil leak. dealer can't find problem. suggested starting with changing breather box, seals, etc...come to find out that 'breather box' is code for PVC Oil Trap or Flame Trap. parts cost $120. labor is 7hrs at $116 per hour. Any ideas for me? I'm new to this w/volvo dealerships and not liking it too much.
Appreciate anything anyone is offering....

If you order the kit from IPD it comes with instructions! Intake comes off easy enough plus you may need to replace your brake booster hose while your under there.

I would say maybe 5 hours. The hardest bolt is the one on the bottom of the intake! The dipstick and that one are a little difficult but other than that not bad! I would say remove the throttle cable to prevent damage to it! Just so you know the bolts where the intake bolt to the head only loosen the lower ones the intake is slotted and slides right up and off!

I suggest a test to check the condition of your PVC. If it is clogged, excess pressure will occur. To test, remove the oil dip stick and observe if there is excessive pressure pushing out while revving the engine. If the PVC is blocked, there will be pressure pushing out. If there is suction, you're in good shape- no need to replace it at this time.......
