I replaced mine with little issue. The strut bolts are extremely tight and then you'll have to contract the springs to remove the strut. You need a spring compressor. I paid $50-$75 for a set. A pneumatic set of tools will help with the nuts, or definitely a long breaker bar.
Once your remove the strut out of the car, some shops will compress the springs and install the new strut for a nominal fee.
Once replaced, a recommended alignment is in order.
