At a car show yesterday I saw an XC90 D5, here in Taiwan. I wasn't able to see it move or be inside it for a test-drive, but (as the showroom took place outdoors), but I did ask them to fire the engine up and let me rev the car to see how different it sounds from its gasoline sister. The tachometer runs from 0 at 7 o'clock to 5,000 at 5 o'clock!
What impressed me is its advertised mileage of 11 km/L, with maximum torque output at 2,000 rpm. Given the price advantage of diesels over premium gasoline (as a Volvo likely needs), imagine the annual savings of operating such a large SUV!
XC90 D5 is here!
