Question about fuel.

I recently did a $30+ purchase at Woolworths and got a Caltex 4c reduction voucher on fuel. (guys in Australia would know what I am on about) For that reason, I filled my 1997' S70 2.5 20V (135,000km) with Voltrex 98. Somehow the car feels very gutless, and running a bit rough too. I normally fill my car up with BP ultimate, maybe I should stick with BP then? Which company sells the best grade of fuel these days? My dad told me Shell used to be the best in the 80s.

I have had it happen to me before when I filled up at 7-11 down the road.
I tend to stick to Kroger, Hess, or Shell. My dad used to only go to Exxons.
I don't know about over there - but generally the big name brands have good gas. You may pay a bit more at the pump, though.

Since I've done a lot of work on my ride this year and it's close to 250K miles, I've been putting premium fuel in to help keep stuff on the inside cleaner. Since the typical price between low grade and top grade is 20 cents a gallon, I figure an extra $3.60 a tank is well worth it.

Mine's done 135,000 km so it's still got heaps of life left in it. I reckon the few dollars I pay more now will be worth it in the long run!-
