Door lock actuator replacement

Can anyone tell me, to replace the door lock actuator in the wife's 2000 S80, drivers side front door, it seems I actually have to take apart the entire power window mechanism, including drilling out the rivets for the window tracks??? The actuator is situated behind the window track and I can't see any way to get it out without pulling the whole window. Or am I missing something??? Any help would be appreciated!
