Hi,
My neighbor has a 2004 s70 and from what she tells me, her car has received regular maintenance.
Car brought down to Florida from New Jersey and has 121k
Non Turbo
That is all I know for now.
She has NO turn signals at all
Hazards do work though.
She said they stopped working one night on her way home when she swiped a curm on t he right side.
I can't see how hitting a curm could throw the electrical out of whack, but three mechanics looked at it and cant find the issue.
One tried the fuse and said it is some kind of short.
Any ideas?
What should we be looking for with this car?
Thank you
Eric

2004 S40 (header) or S70 (first line)?
I have known this happen on many occasions and it is the hazard light switch at fault. The flasher unit is in that switch. The hazard lights work but, for some reason, the turn signals do not.
Bill.

Bill,
As allways... thank you for your input!
Yes... I do believe you are right on that.
Neighbor's car is a 04 s40
My wife had a 98 v70 which we sold months ago. I now recall having the turn signal issue with the v70 intermittanly.
My temporary cure for that was to shut the car off and then restart it, which did the trick but I think someone here on MVS had told me to replace the switch.
I replaced it with a used one from a local self service salvage yard and the problem was fixed.
I checked at US dealer yesterday on the west coast and they quoted me $54.00 for it.
I'll let her know and hopefully that is her problem.
She can't drive around without her signals, one its not safe for her and two, the traffic ticket can be expensive.
Thanks again!
Eric
