V70 2002 cooling fan control box removal.

Hello fellow volvoists,

I'd like to part the cooling fan control box from the rest of the fan assembly for inspection. I believe that the control box is not meant to be removable, but is there a way to detach it without breaking the connector? The assembly is still in place , which makes it complicated to figure out if what I want to do is possible.

To answer my own question: Detaching is not possible without doing too much damage. Actually, there is no connector at all. So removing the whole assembly is necessary in any case.
